Wrap those gifts like you’ve never wrapped before.
If you’re like me, the kind of gift giver who puts as much thought into the wrap as you do to the gift you’ll love this post. It’s the detail that gets me every time. Sometimes I’ll spend that little bit more just to get a uniquely designed wrap to suit the gift or person and go all out on greeting card that makes my heart melt.
With so many talented artists and designers on Etsy, it’s often my first stop for creative and inspiring ideas from small scale makers who could be anywhere in the world. The world is definitely smaller with online shopping like this. Best of all these wrapping papers are good for pretty much any occasion and any person from birthdays to weddings and just because gifts.
I thought I’d share with you five of my favourite gift wrap designs I’m currently coveting on Etsy.
“Keep in mind, all friends will become less sketchy when showered with gifts!”
“Three sheets of handmade Lotka paper. One each of the pink, rose and dusty rose. This great handmade paper from Nepal is ideal for adding an elegant touch to your holiday cards, wrapping that special gift or even decorating your home. Each sheet measures 20″ x 30” and has a natural deckle edge.
Lotka is made in the highlands of Nepal by rural craftspeople. The Daphne bush is farmed and harvested from 3-4 year old plants that are cut down and stripped of their bark to become the raw material from which the sheets are formed. The plant is not destroyed when cut down, it regenerates from the root. The cane like stick, once it’s bark is removed is dried and used to heat the villagers homes and to provide cooking fuel for meals and also for the production of the paper. All of the water used in the paper production is reclaimed and reused. The bark is beaten by hand and boiled to break it down to a pulp (where it is mixed in with recycled pulp and paper scrap collected from the card and envelope manufacturing process) that is then pored into screens to form the sheets. These sheets are then dried in the sun. The whole process is not only earth friendly but also provides a large community with a healthy enterprise. All of our Lotka paper is at least 50% recycled fiber content.”
“Gold and Black Speckle Gift Wrap
The hand printed Metallic Gold and Black Gift Wrap will bring a new level of sophistication and glam to your gift wrapping game!
The speckle pattern is created by hand with a water based screen printing ink. The water based ink creates a slight dimpled texture to the surface of the paper. The hand made process makes the design on each sheet of paper new and unique!”
“This gift wrap features pale florals in a deep navy, nighttime colour. Hand-drawn peonies, roses, little buds and lush foliage make this wrapping paper a sophisticated choice! The pattern is printed on matte, silky paper in full colour.”
“Create and give beautiful gifts wrapped in our copper and black Fern Print paper. This is a screen-printed pattern, copper ink is used to make the pattern shimmer and shine on deep, black paper.”
